The researchers in the es-project have continued to learn about the daily practices of people in the field and to analyze the process of collaboration between researchers and local people in the community to create new activities for the communities. We have named this type of survey research “Engaged Area Studies” while we ourselves critically examine the research methods. We have tried to develop methodology for engaged area studies and model for implementing the results of this research.
